Dad & the engine house at Antonito, CO.  While I hoped to ride from Antonito to Chama (a more scenic buildup) we ended up taking the shuttle bus (40 minutes) to Chama.  At Chama we boarded the train to Antonito.  Chama to the Osier (lunch at the midway point) takes 2 hrs.  1 hr for lunch.  2 hrs from Osier to Antonito.  Beautiful, sunny day (could have been a tad warmer - caught a cold).

This hill represents the Cumbres pass (about 10,000 ft in elevation).  Notice the horizontal line (the railroad track) crossing it.

The train is approaching the hill.

From the hill looking back down to the railroad tracks (barely visible) cross the highway.

The station is in the background.

Fill the water tank at Cumbres.

Blowing off some steam.

A Colorado Housing Development.  Between these two cabins is a nice one set back in the trees.  Open views, a stream, a coal fired steam train - how much are they?
