Surgery #2
(July 24 7:30am 4.5 hours)

Bone Growth Stimulator (Electronic Bone Induction)
electromagnetic coil
I wear this 10 hours per day - typically when I'm sleeping.
The control box / battery on the left and the coil on the right.

Wearing the coil.

The new (my second so far) external fixator.
This unit really keeps my ankle from having motion.

If you don't care to see the cuts in my foot - don't scroll down

Bone Graft / Donor Site (right hip)
Ka-Chunk, Ka-Chunk, Ka-Chunk went the stapler (21 times)

Outside of my right leg - small incision

Front of my right leg - large zipper.

Three hefty pins secure the fixator to my upper shin bone.  Nothing moving here.

Pin site of the original fixator.
It's amazing how the skin heals over where a pin was.
