Temple Mountain road camp

Headed to Hanksville

A short drive around Hanksville

Poison Springs Road

The western portion of PSR is down in the valley with the creek. Water gives green.

The western portion of the P.S. Road are down in the creek. A bit east we ride higher and the creek is not in sight.

Up and out of the low creek valley. Up with some longer views.

Back down to the valley floor.

Dirty Devil river crossing
Flow is at 170cfs

Gauge station

Station solar panel and antenna

This might be the last view of the river. It heads south and we keep rolling east.

Looking back / west - the river crossing was out near where the river disappears.

From here to the Sunset Pass we'll bop in and out of the valleys - staying on a mid-level bench - not down with the valley nor up top with wide views in all directions.

Dark clouds are closing in

The long front & rear bumper hangover, new, pickup getting some guidance

The black pickup was a bit better suited for this bump in the road

After the river crossing the trail is on high ground - bumping in and out of the canyons at the right edge of this photo all the way to Sunset Pass which is near the entrance to the park. This photo is taken very close to Sunset Pass, looking westward.

Sunset Pass area looking east. From here we'll turn left / North to travel up the switchbacks to the two campsites - The Neck and Happy Canyon.

Looking down at the trail we traveled. The large green grass area is the same as the photo above.

Three photos - zoomed in and then backing out. Immense area.

That's a nice view.

Fortunately, the roads are not sloppy.

Working up the switchbacks. The rain didn't turn the ground into slippery mud - very fortunate.

Switchbacks
The top of the switchbacks is the subtle notch in the landscape-sky line

The large pickup could use spotting here and there.

Camp views from The Neck campsite - looking east
