Moody Hill Deadfall cutting, Pennock Pass trail, Old Flowers Road

Clockwise
loop. When traveling on Old Flowers Road it was noted that it would be
nice if the Monument Gulch roads were open to the public. They are
gated & locked for forest housing access only. The West White Pine
Mountain trail has been permanently taken out of service - it would be
quite nice if that trail was open. That trail would add variety to the
area trails. |

| On
my visit last week, several of the deadfall trees were blocking the
trail. From that visit I had a thought to return to clear them. On the
visit today - someone spent the time to clear them from the trail. My
guest and I added some finishing touches that could use more clearing. |
| On this trail, the aspen colors were green. |
| We're
west at the Pennock Pass trail. My guest caught this moose so we
stopped for a few pictures. It was content enough for a few photos. |

| Pro/Con of a burned forest - vegitation does not block the view of the road snaking along. |
| A few sections didn't burn and give an idea what the area looked like several years prior. |
| The carpet of young pine trees is neat to see. The vegitation covers up the maze of downed, burned tree trunks. |
| Off of the trails, rolling through the ranch area on the way to county roads. A fair bit of wildlife was visible today. |
